IronWookieArcade.com was the first complete site I ever built in PHP. It started off fairly basic, just your average Flash portal with user accounts, and has grown into a nice little community of competitive players.

Sporting user profiles, player-vs.-player challenges, tournament ladders, and site-wide user chat (thanks to the AWESOME CometChat script!), IronWookieArcade has become an entirely different beast then its humble beginnings.

The tournament system was one of the first big upgrades done to the site. Players can choose any game to create a tournament for, and anyone can register for any open tournament. After a week has passed, the registrations are closed and tournament play begins, giving the users 24 hours to get their best score possible for that round. Every day is a new round, and a new challenge!

The player profiles keep track of the users’ recent wins and losses, as well as their friends on the site. Users also have access to “gamertags” which can be posted anywhere on the web and contain their current rank and status on the site!
