Ads in games

I’m just curious… What are everyone’s thoughts on advertising in flash games? If it’s unobtrusive (i.e. skip-able and/or doesn’t interrupt game play), does it ruin the game experience? Is it expected at this point? I’d like to attempt to monetize my future flash game(s), but I personally have always hated ad placement in flash games…
